On January 22, 1972 a group of 6th formers, led by Tony Elwood, organized a charity showing of the film ‘Woodstock’, at the ABC Cinema, Eccles (what we old timers knew as the Broadway). The event was organised in aid of the school’s charity, Sunshine Homes for Blind Babies (now the RNIB) and as our contribution to the Christmas Fair fundraising effort. Below are shown the flyer advertising the event (high-tech graphics in those days, eh !!), a mention of the event in the Sounds Magazine (that cost all of sixpence), and a Woodstock film poster.
